- धर a. (-रा, -री f.) [धृ-अच्] (Usually at the end of comp.) Holding, carrying, bearing, wearing, con- taining, possessing, endowed with, preserving, observing, &c.; as in अक्षधर, अंशुधर, गदाधर, गङ्गाधर, महीधर, असृग्धर, दिव्याम्बरधर &c.-रः 1 A mountain; a hill-fort. शिवस्य यस्य हस्ते$द्य धरौ सिंहपुरंदरौ Śiva.
